Updates and Christmas gifts!

At this time of the year I always start getting that 'must tidy up nesting feeling', it doesn't apply to my house work, just the mundane accounts and everyday paper work, and also my patterns, particularly the ones written some time ago.
Poinsettia Pin/Brooch has always been a popular FREE download on Ravelry, however I always felt that it needed tidying up. So along with an update I have also included a chart.

I have also tidied up Hayworth a chunky cowl crocheted in Bergere de France Eclair, the shade I used is discontinued but there are still other gorgeous colours available,  it has a touch of glitz making it quite a festive project.  Hayworth was first published in Simply Knitting and also in Future publishings Simply Crochet supplement not to be mistaken for their exciting new magazine, Simply Crochet, which is launching in January.

Currently I am waiting on a gorgeous handknit wreath,  I have decided to decorate it with poinsettias and some strategically placed pom poms, the design is from my chums at TrueBritKnits  named Hampstead Wreath its a fantastic project, and for just £3.00 can be downloaded, with all proceeds going to charity.  You must check out their blog, as well as amazing patterns, it includes a wonderful Monday Mood board which is always so inspirational.

This year Christmas has been fairly organised I have all my main presents bought, well apart from my daughters boyfriend.  He announced that he would like a crochet scarf for Christmas, after I picked myself up off the floor, I went through colour schemes and he chose blue and white/cream.  I produced a stitch guide and he chose my firm favourite crochet moss st, such a simple combination and is great fun to work on, I still have a way to go but so glad I have a crafty Christmas present to make.  Needless to say looks like my tunic may not be ready for the Christmas day pub trip!

Until next time............Nicky xx
